Cookie policy

The websites owned and controlled by the Neurology Academy (“Our sites”) use cookies and similar technologies in order to distinguish you from other users. By using cookies, we are able to provide you with a better experience and to improve our sites by better understanding how you use it.

Definitions and interpretation

In this cookie policy, unless the context otherwise requires, the following expressions have the following meanings:

  • “Cookie” means a small text file placed on your computer or device by our sites when you visit certain parts of our sites and/or when you use certain features of our sites;
  • “personal data” means any and all data that relates to an identifiable person who can be directly or indirectly identified from that data, as defined by EU Regulation 2016/679 General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”); and
  • “we/us/our” means the Neurology Academy, a limited company registered in England under company number 03591204, whose registered address is 1 The Edge, Hillsborough Barracks, Langsett Road, Sheffield, S6 2LR.

What cookies do we use?

First party cookies are served directly to your computer from our websites and often used to remember your preferences for using our sites. They are essential cookies. For example, if you register or sign into the Academy Forum, we use a cookie to remember who you are, so you do not need to login again next time you visit.

Third party cookies work in the same way as first party cookies, but are served by a third party on behalf of us. Third party cookies are most commonly used for website analytics and advertising purposes. Across our sites we use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google. This refers to a set of tools used to collect and analyse anonymous usage information, enabling us to better understand how our sites are used. This, in turn, enables us to improve our sites and the courses offered through it. You do not have to allow us to use these Cookies, however whilst our use of them does not pose any risk to your privacy or your safe use of our sites, it does enable us to continually improve our sites, making them a better and more useful experience for you.

You can always opt-out of Google Analytics cookies by Google’s opt-out tool:

tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout/

Some of our pages contain embedded content such as YouTube videos and our Twitter feed, and you may receive cookies delivered from these websites.
