Sarah Gillett was previously manager of a qualifications authority and has now been Managing Director of the Neurology Academy for 15 years. Sarah has over 23 years’ experience of event management and educational courses that are delivered to maximize beneficial impact on the NHS. Sarah has developed the Neurology Academy from what was just a few Parkinson’s disease courses to a company that now specialises in three different conditions – Parkinson’s, dementia, and multiple sclerosis – with new disease area courses in the pipeline.

Jackey brings a diverse skill set to her role as Academy Partnership Manager at the Neurology Academy. Originally trained as a chef, Jackey has over 27 years’ experience in business administration, project coordination and event management in a range of different environments from hospital administration to the education sector to IT Supplier Management. Since joining us in 2017, Jackey brings her efficient, organised approach to organising and delivering the MasterClass courses.
Head of Policy, Intelligence and Operations

Jamie is a new member of the Neurology Academy and joins us as Head of Policy, Intelligence and External Affairs. Jamie’s background is predominantly in the legal field, working for national and international clients. He brings a varied skill set including, contract management, dispute resolution and legal drafting.
Website and Media Manager
DESIGN, MEDIA, PROMOTIONAL AND WEBSITE ENQUIRIES
Johanna joined us in April 2018 as a Media Coordinator. Originally from Germany, she studied Communication Design in Hamburg. She brings a range of skills to the Neurology Academy, such as graphic design, website administration and email marketing and is the GDPR officer for the company.
Jon originally trained as a Registered Nurse for the Mentally Handicapped. After qualifying he worked for two years on the Habilitation Unit preparing people for life outside the hospital environment. Having a strong interest in making music Jon took a Diploma in Audio Engineering and decided to change career. He has since spent 28 years working in the live event industry, both nationally and internationally.He started working with the Parkinson’s Academy in 2004 while managing the South West Branch of an Audio Visual Company. Apart from a short break while he built his house, he has been working with the Academy ever since. Jon currently spends his time as a Theatre Technician at Truro College and freelance Audio Visual Technician.
Sarah is an experienced medical writer with previous roles at the MS Society and Neurological Commissioning Support. She currently writes for the British Journal of Neuroscience Nursing, Commissioning Excellence, and Neurology Academy, and has been involved in designing and creating a number of integrated care pathways / professional education pathways.
SOCIAL MEDIA AND PROJECT COORDINATOR
With a background in neurology informed by working alongside patients, clinicians and the voluntary sector, Charlie’s experience in this field has been broad. Initially working in event management and communications and later moving into research and service development, she has also mentored charities and produced bespoke training packages. She has spoken at educational events, contributed to several academic articles, and currently supports the Neurology Academy as a health writer.
