Dr Claire Rice
Dr Claire Rice is an Associate Professor in Neuroinflammation and Honorary Consultant Neurologist at the University of Bristol and Southmead Hospital, Bristol. She works with the multidisciplinary team at the Bristol and Avon Multiple Sclerosis Centre, Southmead Hospital to support the MS service, with involvement in a range of clinical research activities including national/international interventional trials, and a sub-specialist service for people with rarer neuroinflammatory disease. Claire also leads a translational research programme which includes investigator-led clinical trials with particular focus on the role of bone marrow in immune mediated neuroinflammatory disease including multiple sclerosis, and the application of emerging technologies to improve diagnostic pathways for people with neuroinflammatory disease. She is a member of the Association of British Neurologists Specialist Advisory Group on MS and Neuroinflammatory disorders, a founding member of the NHS England Rare Diseases Collaborative Network for Neurosarcoidosis, and has contributed to the European Stroke Organisation (ESO) guidelines on primary angiitis of the central nervous system.
