Concetta Brugaletta
Concetta works as clinical nurse specialist with the gastroenterology physiology team at University College London Hospital since 2016. This a consultant lead service where she provides a range of specialised treatments together with nursing colleagues, physiologists and health care assistants.
She offers biofeedback therapy, transanal irrigation and psychological support to patients with complex needs or who are non-responsive to standard bowel care advice. During her 13-year-work at patient bedside, she gained experience in gastroenterology, following some clinical experience in oncology, nutrition and neurology. She holds an MSc in Clinical and Public Health Nutrition from University College London and an MSc in Transcultural Multicultural approach in the Field of Health, Social Care and Welfare.
She is a nurse who believes in the therapeutic relational role of her profession to support patients in gaining awareness and independence in the management of their complex symptoms. She is interested in clinical research in the neurogenic gut dysfunction management area, where she is about to start a PhD program.
