Dr Ahmed Hammam is a consultant neuroradiologist at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square, London. He possesses expertise in multiple sclerosis imaging, neuromuscular disorders, movement disorders, and skull base lesions. Additionally, he performs therapeutic spinal procedures.

Dr. Hammam graduated from Mansoura University, Egypt, in 2005, where he also received training in diagnostic radiology, which he completed in 2011. He undertook a neuroradiology fellowship at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. He holds a Clinical Master’s degree in Diagnostic Radiology and was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR) in 2019.

He currently serves as the MRI Lead Consultant at NHNN and co-leads multidisciplinary meetings in areas of his expertise. He has also worked as a consultant radiologist at King’s College Hospital, London, and in Egypt.

He has a keen interest in education and regularly teaches neuroradiology to trainees and fellows. He has contributed to several audits and quality improvement projects aimed at enhancing MRI protocols and patient safety.

Dr Hammam is actively engaged in research, contributing to studies in machine learning, multiple sclerosis, and neuromuscular imaging. He has given international presentations and published in peer-reviewed journals, including work on multiple sclerosis, brain tumour imaging and deep learning applications in neuroradiology.
