Dr Raquel Real is a senior clinical research fellow at the UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology and a honorary consultant neurologist specialising in movement disorders at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. Her research primarily aims to uncover the genetic factors underlying variable disease progression in Parkinson’s disease, and to identify genetic and protein signatures associated with more severe PD phenotypes. She is also an investigator in the "Parkinson’s Families Project", a large multi-centre cohort study, which aims to facilitate genetic discovery in familial Parkinson’s disease.
