Patrick Chirilele

Patrick is an early-career public health researcher with a background in statistics, economics and finance. His current research focuses on brain health, dementia and health inequalities, particularly through the EMERALD-Lewy programme.

His work with EMERALD-Lewy includes research into Lewy body dementia, with particular interest in sex and gender differences in diagnosis and care. He presented work on this at the Dementia Research Network Ireland Early Career Researcher Day.

He previously worked in public health and monitoring & evaluation in South Africa, including work with health programmes and the South African Department of Health. He also holds an MCom in Finance from the University of Johannesburg, as well as qualifications in financial planning and statistics/economics.
