Ryan has a background of working in the charitable sector and has a particular interest in user involvement and community engagement. Ryan was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) in 2008 and has been working as part of MS-UK’s helpline and information team for ten years.

MS-UK is an independent charity with a mission to support anyone affected by MS to live healthier and happier lives. The organisation does this by improving the understanding of MS and providing support where it is needed most.

Alongside services for people affected by MS, MS-UK offer MS awareness training to a variety of professionals to help them develop a better understanding of life with MS and to dispel many of the myths and preconceptions they may have about the condition. In 2024 MS-UK delivered sessions to over 1,400 professionals including staff from the Department for Work and Pensions, Social Prescribers and care providers.
