Prof Tarunya Arun
Dr Tarunya Arun is an Associate Professor of Neurology and a NIHR clinician scientist. She is the Clinical Lead for the Multiple Sclerosis service at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust and the Research and Development Lead for Neurology.
She completed her specialist training in Neurology in the Oxford Deanery and undertook subspecialist training in neuroinflammation in Oxford and London. In 2010, she was awarded a doctorate for her work using novel MRI techniques to study brain function in patients with Multiple Sclerosis at the FMRIB Centre, University of Oxford.
Dr Arun has a specialist interest in neuroinflammatory disease. She is Co-Chair of the Association of British Neurologists (ABN) Advisory Group for MS and Neuroinflammation. She is Chair of the NHS England Rare Diseases Consortium for Neurosarcoidosis and a member of the NHS England Clinical Reference Group (CRG) for Neurology. She also serves as a clinical advisor to NICE.
Her research interests include real-world studies in Multiple Sclerosis and Neurosarcoidosis. She is Principal Investigator on several multicentre clinical trials and has published widely in peer-reviewed journals.
She is a mother to two young boys and enjoys hill walking, dance in all its forms, and travel.
