Dr. Md Badrul Islam is a neurologist come researcher. Currently he is working as Assistant Scientist in the Laboratory Science and Services Division (LSSD) in the International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh (ICDDR,B). He has completed his PhD in 2019 in Neuroscience from Erasmus University Medical Center, Rotterdam, the Netherlands. After successful completion of his doctoral thesis, he joined ICDDR,B envisioning neuroscience research in arena of utmost need in Bangladesh. In the coming decades, one of the pertinent aspect will be our increasing greying population and dementia. Addressing dementia from the clinical and scientific point of view is one of his research pursuits.
