Parkinson's MasterClasses available internationally!
NewsWe have often welcomed international delegates onto our courses here in the UK and are aware that whilst policy and service models may differ around the world, the nature of the condition, and the determination of healthcare professionals to deliver the best possible care, does not.
This year, after almost two decades of experience in Parkinson's education, we have adapted our Foundation and Advanced Parkinson's MasterClasses to a completely virtual course so that international delegates can access the courses on their own terms, without time and travel constraints.
Designed to provide a strong grounding in Parkinson's diagnosis, treatment and management, both our Foundation and Advanced MasterClass draw on a mixture of frontline experience, the latest evidence bases and cutting edge research. Designed and delivered by eminent Parkinson's specialists across health disciplines, they are ideal courses for consultants, specialist nurses, therapists, pharmacists and other allied healthcare professionals keen to improve their practice and their patient's experiences.

The changes wrought by the coronavirus pandemic have seen a shift towards virtual education, and whilst in-person courses are once again available, we have learned that for some, virtual-based courses are more accessible, more manageable and have resulted in a wider range of healthcare professionals able to receive the education they want.

These online MasterClasses bring all the knowledge and expertise that our in-person courses contain whilst also offering the flexibility of self-directed learning. Sessions include many commonly asked questions which are responded to within the recorded content, and delegates are welcome to email any additional questions they might have into the Academy, which will forward them to a Faculty member for response.
For international attendees, these virtual courses present an opportunity to become upskilled in Parkinson's and equipped with knowledge on treatment options and management support which they would otherwise not have access to.
The course does require funding, although a discounted attendance is available when delegates book onto both courses, including where block bookings are made across teams. If either an individual or team is being sponsored to attend, a free space is also available so that the sponsor can attend the course themselves and gain understanding around what the clinicians are learning. Please contact us if you’re interested in attending both courses or if you would like to book for your team.
