Christian Lambert is a Principal Research Associate based in the Functional Imaging Laboratory (Department of Imaging Neuroscience, UCL) and Consultant Neurologist specialising in Movement Disorders at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. His work is primarily focused on understanding the link between differences in brain structure and phenotypic variability in health and disease, with a particular focus on Parkinson’s disease and related disorders. He leads the Quantitative MRI for Anatomical Phenotyping in Parkinson’s disease” longitudinal cohort study (qMAP-PD), designed to better understand phenotypic variability in Parkinson’s disease. Through this, he is also leading the "Multiscale Modelling In Parkinson's" initiative, creating new methods and tools to integrate, analyse and understand data across multiple biological scales, from in vitro cell models to in vivo whole brain dynamics, in the same individuals. The overarching objective is to develop tools that will more accurately identify PD earlier, better anticipate disease trajectory, provide non-invasive quantitative biomarkers and help understand the mechanistic basis of disease variability at the individual subject level.
