Dr David Kernick

General practitioner with extended role in headache

David Kernick has been a general practitioner in Exeter for 45 years having started off life as a chemical engineer. He has run the Exeter Headache Clinic for 25 years. He was lead research GP in a research practice where his interests were health economics in primary care, complexity theory and headache. He was RCGP headache champion, previous chair of the British Association for the Study of Headache, a NICE Fellow and has sat on a number of NICE guideline groups including headache and multimorbidity. He leads the GPwER group of the British Association for the Study of Headache and is on the teaching faculty for headache in the British Paediatric Neurology Association.
