Prof Helen Ford

Helen Ford is a consultant neurologist with a special interest in multiple sclerosis. Helen trained in neurology in Yorkshire, UK, and was appointed as a consultant neurologist in 1998. Helen works with a multidisciplinary MS team based at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The team provides a local service for people with MS in Leeds and a tertiary MS Treatment Programme for West Yorkshire.

Helen is clinical professor of neurology at the university of Leeds. Helen’s research interests are in social determinants of health and MS, patient reported outcome measures, treatment decision-making, employment in MS, kinematic measurement of upper limb function, gender and intersectionality in MS, domestic violence and abuse and clinical trials. Helen is the clinical lead for the Yorkshire Brain Research Centre appeal raising the profile of brain research.
