Dr James Fisher
Dr James Fisher is a consultant geriatrician at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, where his clinical responsibilities include the Movement Disorders service for the North and Central Northumberland area.
During specialty training James completed an MD in Parkinson’s Disease and remains involved with research through contribution to the delivery of Parkinson’s-related studies running in the trust.
His other interest is medical education and he is a senior lecturer at Newcastle University. His is also very keen to try to encourage interest and uptake into the specialty of geriatric medicine and co-founded the Association for Elderly Medicine Education (aeme.org.uk).
Having attended the Foundation and Advanced MasterClasses during his training, he was delighted to be invited to contribute to what he found to be a great opportunity to learn about Parkinson’s and to meet colleagues working in the field – he hopes you all enjoy the course.
