Dr Liz Hudson is a consultant old age and liaison psychiatrist, focused on therapeutic relationships and the intersection between psychiatry, cognition, ageing, and physical symptoms. She completed a national fellowship in mental health and Parkinson’s in 2025, funded by Parkinson’s UK. She was a finalist for the 2026 Parkinson’s Excellence Network Rising Star Award. She sits on the British Geriatric Society Movement Disorders Special Interest Group and has an interest in developing holistic MDT care in movement disorders.

Dr Hudson works in specialist services in Pennine Care in both a psychotherapeutic service for people with persistent physical symptoms in Stockport, and in Pennine Care long COVID service. She is affiliated with South Manchester Parkinson’s Service. She is a student in systemic family therapy at the University of Leeds. She works less than full time, is mother of two young children, and is involved in the care of a family member with Parkinson’s. Dr Hudson takes an interest in working with families and carers of people with Parkinson’s and pioneered the ‘Parkinson’s carers’ clinic’ with her colleague, occupational therapist Ellen Martinez, using systemic and single session therapy principles in Manchester in 2025.

Dr Hudson has a Masters degree with distinction in Theatre practice (applying drama principles to other disciplines) from the University of Exeter and an interest in the medical humanities.
