Mia Parsons
Mia is a Clinical Psychologist with a particular interest chronic pain. She completed her clinical training at the University Of Canterbury in New Zealand and worked in tertiary pain management services there prior to moving to the UK. Her current role at St Thomas’ Pain Management Service provides psychological support for the headache and facial pain clinic (among other things!) In addition to her NHS work, she runs a private clinic one day a week.
Mia provides a variety of evidence-based therapies, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, Breath-work (with biofeedback), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and compassion-focused approaches.
