Sheilagh Reid
Sheilagh has been a consultant urologist at Sheffield Teaching Hospital since 2007, specializing in neurourology within the spinal injuries unit. In 2010, she co-founded the MS urology service in Sheffield alongside Liam Rice, a multiple sclerosis nurse specialist. She also ran the Spinal Urology National course from 2017 to 2023.
From 2013 to 2016, Sheilagh served as the educational TPD for Yorkshire. She was the chair of the Female Neuro-Urodynamics and Urology Section (FNUU) of the British Association of Urological Surgeons from 2020 to 2022, where she led the section.
Having worked as a full-time consultant until 2024, Sheilagh transitioned into partial retirement, stepping back from clinical work completing Masters in Health Psychology and now pursing a PhD in the University of Sheffield looking at unexplianed funnctional bladder disorders. She is also an Associate Trustee to the Spinal Injuries Association and contributes as a reviewer for the MS Society.
