Sheilagh has been a consultant urologist in Sheffield teaching hospital since 2007. The majority of her clinical work is in neurourology in the spinal injuries unit in Sheffield and she has run the spinal urology nation course for the last 7 years. Sheilagh was the educational TPD for Yorkshire from 2013 to 2016 and FNUU chair (female neuro and urodynamics section of the British association of surgeons) from 2020 to 2022 and in that role lead the section. In 2010 along with Liam Rice, one of the MS nurse specialists, she set up an MS urology service for Sheffield.
