Susie Lagrata
Susie Lagrata completed her bachelor’s degree in Adult Nursing at Wesleyan University, Philippines, in 1996 and moved to the UK in 1999, where she currently works as an Advanced Headache Nurse Practitioner and Lead Nurse at The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, University College London Hospitals (UCLH) NHS Foundation Trust. She has undertaken numerous postgraduate courses, including the Master of Headache Disorders at the University of Copenhagen in 2018, and is a registered independent non-medical prescriber.
She won the 2022 Royal College of Nursing Award in recognition of the pioneering nurse-led services she established in the UK, and was awarded Best Scientific Presentation in Belgium in 2024. She was a topic-specific member in the NICE guidelines (2015 review). She is currently an Education Committee member of the International Headache Society and a Board Member of the International Forum for Headache Nurses. She also serves as an honorary advisory council member of the British Association for the Study of Headache (BASH) and is co-project lead of the RCN Headache Nurses Competency and Education Framework.
Susie has presented at national and international meetings, and has authored and co-authored several scientific papers over the past 17 years. She is a guest lecturer at London South Bank University and a scientific committee member of the Royal College of Nursing International Conference since 2022.
