Overview
This meeting offers a practical, case-based update on the diagnosis and management of multiple sclerosis (MS), from early presentation to advanced disease. The programme will review recent changes to MS diagnostic criteria and their impact on clinical practice, including when and how to apply the McDonald criteria and the role of MRI and lumbar puncture in patients with suspected MS.
Through case discussions, the meeting will explore disease-modifying treatment strategies across the disease course, including early intensive therapy, treatment escalation, monitoring response, and managing progression independent of relapse activity. The programme will also address care of older people with MS and the holistic management of advanced disease, covering nutrition, respiratory care, bladder and bowel management, skin and pressure areas and advanced care planning.
Programme - last updated 26th February
