What will I get from attending the National Neurology Transformation Meeting (NNTM) 2027?
Free to attend, NNTM 2027 brings together a community of clinicians, commissioners, operational managers, Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) partners, and patient advocates who are working to improve and transform neurology services at a system-level.
This is our fourth annual one-day meeting. It is delivered in partnership with NHS England’s GIRFT Neurology Programme and The Neurological Alliance, and provides a national forum to explore the challenges facing neurology services, share practical examples of transformation and consider how services need to evolve to deliver more consistent, integrated and equitable care.
The NHS is undergoing its most radical reform in a generation - we are seeing NHS England merge into Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) and the clustering of Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) into larger geographies. Alongside this, the Government’s 10-Year Health Plan for England has set out three major shifts in health and care: from hospital to community, from analogue to digital, and from sickness to prevention. However, significant variation and inequity in access to care remain, as highlighted in the Neurological Alliance Patient Survey (My Neuro Survey) 2025.
This shifting landscape brings significant challenges, but also opportunities. People with neurological conditions, healthcare professionals, and commissioners all need clarity on how national ambitions can be translated into meaningful improvements on the ground.
Join us at NNTM 2027 and leave inspired, connected, and equipped to drive meaningful change in your community. Don’t miss your chance to be part of it.
What can I expect from 2027’s meeting?
This will be the 4th annual National Neurology Transformation Meeting. Previous meetings have explored the commissioning landscape, showcased progress being made in transforming neurology services, highlighted the impact of joined-up care through sharing real-life examples of system-level transformation.
The 2027 programme will build on this work, bringing together national leaders, clinicians, service teams and the voluntary sector to explore how we can deliver more consistent, integrated and person-centred care.
This year’s meeting will examine the development and delivery of national standards of care for neurology, explore the relationship between neurology and social care, and consider what greater integration could mean for people living with neurological conditions. Delegates will hear directly from service users and experts working across health and social care, alongside practical examples of service transformation.
As with previous years, this year’s meeting will focus on a number of priority themes. This year there will be particular focus on the left shift of headache services, the interface between health and social care, and services for Functional Neurological Disorder.
As with previous years, we invite poster submissions showcasing examples of service transformation. Attendees will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite poster, with a prize awarded to the winning submission.

Abstract themes
Abstract themes for 2027
We welcome abstracts showcasing innovative approaches to transforming neurology services and improving care for people with neurological conditions. This year, we are particularly interested in work that demonstrates practical change, collaboration and improvements at a service, pathway or system level.
Abstracts may focus on, but are not limited to, the following themes:
Delivering consistent standards of care – approaches to reducing unwarranted variation and embedding national standards, quality improvement and best practice across neurology services.
Integrated health and social care – innovative approaches to working across health and social care, improving coordination, supporting people with complex needs and creating more joined-up services.
Improving access and reducing inequalities in neurological care – tackling variation in access, experience and outcomes and developing services that better meet the needs of diverse populations.
Workforce modelling, training and development – innovative approaches to recruitment, retention, workforce planning, skill mix, training and developing new roles to meet future demand.
New models of care – innovative approaches to delivering services across primary, secondary, community, neighbourhood and specialist care, including collaborative and multidisciplinary models.
Person-centred care and the voice of people with neurological conditions – co-production, shared decision-making, patient and carer involvement, service-user experience and approaches that place people at the centre of service transformation.
Partnership working – collaboration between NHS organisations, social care, voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations, patients, carers and other partners to improve neurological care.
System-level service transformation and innovation – new models, pathway redesign, improvement programmes and innovations that demonstrate how neurology services can be transformed at local, regional or national level.
Turning data, evidence and experience into action – using service data, research, patient experience, audit, evaluation and other evidence to identify priorities and drive measurable improvements in neurological care.
