Dr Fiona McKevitt

Clinical director for outpatient recovery and transformation, NHSE
consultant neurologist, Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Dr Fiona McKevitt is the joint Clinical Director for the Outpatient Recovery and Transformation at NHS England and a Consultant Neurologist specialising in Neuro-Oncology in Sheffield. She is a member of the Future of Outpatients Strategy group working in conjunction with NHS England and the Royal College of Physicians. She is co-chair of the NHSE Reducing Missed Appointments steering group and was a co-author of Modern Outpatient Care published by the Royal College of Physicians in 2023.

In her role as clinical director at NHS England she has been involved in developing key enablers for outpatient recovery including Patient Initiated Follow Up, the use of specialist advice services and the expansion of group consultations. She is a clinical lead for the recently launched NHS Emeritus Programme, an initiative which connects recently retired, or partially retired, clinicians with NHS providers.

Fiona is the erstwhile Chair of the Association of British Neurologists Neuro-Oncology Advisory Group and is current Vice-Chair of the Association of British Neurologists Services Committee.
