Course overview
The course aims to improve the confidence of neuropharmacists by covering the management of a range of neurological conditions, such as multiple sclerosis, headache and migraine, epilepsy, myasthenia gravis, rare diseases, and newly approved therapies. The high-quality, diverse content aims to maximise their role in the multidisciplinary team and improve patient outcomes with the use of medication.
The Neuropharmacy MasterClass has been co-developed by two senior neuropharmacists. The course is dedicated to pharmacists specialising in neurosciences and is delivered by a range of healthcare professionals and underscores the significant role pharmacists play in the patient pathway and in supporting MDT colleagues. The building of your own neuropharmacist network of peers is an added bonus to attending the masterclass.
The MasterClass consists of two modules, with a gap between to give time for a service development, review or audit to be undertaken at your workplace. This is presented back to the cohort at module 2, more guidance on which will be given during module 1. Learners will also receive optional mentorship while completing the inter-module project of their choice. → View previous projects

Developing neuropharmacists, supporting collaborative care
Knowledgeable pharmacists can initiate or support new treatment pathways, play an important role in patient education, medicine adherence, efficacy and safety, and provide advice to other healthcare professionals involved in the person's care. This Academy recognises the value of this essential role, and seeks to enhance pharmacist's clinical skills and build their confidence in managing a range of neurological conditions.
