This course is intended for paediatricians, paediatric neurologists, general neurology trainees, consultant neurologists, specialist nurses, therapists and multidisciplinary team members who would like to increase their understanding of SMA and its treatment and management and explore how they can improve their own services.
Course overview
This on-demand course explores the evolving challenges in the comprehensive management of spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). The programme examines key areas including respiratory care, palliative approaches, ethical considerations, and neurocognitive outcomes in treated SMA patients. It also addresses important topics such as the implementation of newborn screening and the transition of care from paediatric to adult services.
