CIDP digital education

Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy (CIDP) is a rare, acquired, immune-mediated disorder of the peripheral nervous system. It is a lesser recognised neurological disease which, despite being treatable, often faces delays in diagnosis and variation in access to specialist care. With symptoms that include progressive muscle weakness, fatigue, and sensory impairment, CIDP can have a profound impact on an individual’s quality of life and functional independence.

CIDP digital education is a fully virtual educational programme designed for all healthcare professionals involved in the management of this condition.

Leveraging high-quality digital content and expert faculty, the programme will provide essential training on diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management. It will also promote equitable access to care by supporting the development of consistent and coordinated service pathways across the UK.

By empowering a broader workforce with the confidence and competence to recognise and manage CIDP, this initiative supports national ambitions to enhance rare disease education and improve patient outcomes through early intervention and multidisciplinary care.

Aim of the course:

To equip multidisciplinary healthcare professionals with the knowledge and confidence to diagnose, manage, and coordinate care for people with CIDP, using real-world scenarios, expert input, and high-quality virtual learning tools.

Course objectives:

By the end of the programme, participants will be able to:

• Recognise and differentiate CIDP from other neuropathies

• Initiate or support appropriate diagnostic investigations

• Understand the evidence-based treatment options and escalation routes

• Work within or refer to an effective MDT for ongoing care

The course includes a clear learning pathway to support different levels of knowledge and experience. Tier 1 provides the foundation knowledge needed to understand and recognise CIDP, while Tier 2 offers more advanced content for those looking to deepen their understanding. Learners can choose the tier and content that is most relevant to their current role, knowledge, and experience.

At the end of the course, there will be a short assessment to test your knowledge. Once you have successfully completed the assessment and submitted the evaluation form, you will receive a certificate of completion.
