Profiles
Dr Christoph Mueller
Christoph is a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience (King’s College London) and a Consultant Old Age Psychiatrist at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. His research focuses on dementia care epidemiology, utilizing large datasets of anonymized electronic health records. This data is augmented through data linkages (e.g. mental health care records to general hospital episodes and discharge diagnoses), allowing for a comprehensive examination of the patient journey. Additionally, natural language processing is employed to investigate contextual factors and symptoms, for example the core symptoms of dementia with Lewy bodies, and to delve into patient experiences in depth. His research areas encompass the study of medication outcomes and adverse effects, the exploration of environmental and contextual factors such as loneliness or air pollution on dementia outcomes, and the prognosis of dementia diagnosis subtypes, such as dementia with Lewy bodies. Christoph's research aims to identify effective strategies for everyday clinical situations, facilitating a real-world precision medicine approach for dementia.
