Dr Qian Yue Tan is a Consultant Geriatrician at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust. During specialty training, she was an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow and completed her PhD in 2023 after being awarded an NIHR Applied Research Collaboration Wessex PhD Fellowship. Through a mixed-methods study, her PhD focused on exploring the work that people with Parkinson’s and their caregivers must do to manage their health (treatment burden), and their ability to manage this (capacity). This has identified the key aspects of treatment burden and capacity in Parkinson’s that could be modified to achieve better health outcomes.
