Dr Stuart Viegas
Dr Stuart Viegas qualified from UCL Medical School with honours. He then obtained a DPhil under the supervision of Prof Angela Vincent in Oxford. Whilst there he received clinical training in MG from Dr David Hilton-Jones and Prof John Newsom-Davis. He was also involved in clinical projects including the development of a post thymectomy surveillance protocol for MG patients with thymoma. He then completed his neurology training in Southampton, Imperial and the National Hospital. He was appointed as a consultant neurologist at Imperial in 2014 and runs a specialist neuromuscular service. He has worked with cardiothoracic, oncology and respiratory colleagues to develop a pathway for thymectomy/thymoma cases and has helped facilitate the introduction of videoscopic assisted thymectomy locally. He also sits on the IVIG and advanced immunotherapy panels in NW London and is actively involved with Myaware.
