Gio Escorpion De Guzman is the Neuromuscular Clinical Nurse Specialist for Leeds and region. The role allows Gio to use his wealth of experience and skill in neuroscience nursing to provide clinical knowledge and support to his patients. Gio has become a key member of the neuromuscular team for the adult service and is providing home visits, nurse led clinics and a sub-investigator of the adult neuromuscular research unit. Gio is a great communicator and has volunteered his time on several occasions to provide support to younger/paediatric neuromuscular patients on their journey through services.

Gio has his BSc in Adult nursing gained from the University of Leeds in 2019. Gio clinical background includes working as a registered nurse and charge nurse on the neurology ward, neurology day case unit and has worked as a discharge coordinator most recently. Gio has come to his new role with real enthusiasm and has made a positive impact in the service and development of his role.
