Janet Soo-Chung
Janet is a successful and effective senior leader with extensive experience in NHS management, strategy, board governance, team/organisational development and service improvement. She has significant experience and a track record of delivering change in complex systems of health and care at system and organisation level.
Janet has served as CEO over a period of 18 years in five NHS organisations. In 2013 she was the group CEO of the five Lancashire Primary Care Trusts and led the transition to the new statutory commissioners - Clinical Commissioning Groups under the 2013 NHS reforms. She also established the NHSE Lancashire Team during this period.
In recent years Janet has worked independently taking on roles including Programme Director, Director of Strategy and Primary Care, Turnaround Director and Chief Officer. Her work has included developing new organisations, whole system working and financial recovery.
Janet is also an experienced coach and an accredited mediator and has recently worked to develop an Integrated Care Partnership as part of the wider system reforms to establish Integrated Care Systems as statutory bodies.
Janet has also held Non Executive Director roles at the Department of Trade and Industry, Government Equalities Office and the University sector.
She was appointed CBE for services to health care in the New Year’s Honours list 2002.
