Katie qualified as a physiotherapist in 2008. She has worked in acute neurology for most of her career at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Sheffield helping people with new neurological diagnosis and rehabilitation.

Katie joined the neuromuscular team in 2015 as a clinical specialist physiotherapist in neuromuscular disorders.

The SMA service in Sheffield is treating the largest amount of Nusinersen and Risdiplam patients in the UK. With the support from colleagues Katie has established the SMA service in Sheffield.

Katie completes all physiotherapy outcomes with the patients and also clinically co-ordinates the service, to ensure the smooth running of the SMA and delivery of treatments and assessments on time.
