Marina González del Rio is a nurse who graduated from the University of Girona (Spain) in 2015. She started her research career at the Girona Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBGI) as a member of the Neuroinflammation and Neurodegeneration Group. Focusing on multiple sclerosis, she combined her work on clinical trials with her own research projects that aim not only to provide solutions and recommendations for healthcare professionals relating to best practices in treating the disease, but also, and especially, to assist multiple sclerosis sufferers in modulating their approach to it. Studies based on her projects have been published both nationally and internationally. In 2018, she started her doctoral studies in which she merges psychometrics, education for health and multiple sclerosis. She is currently the head of the Nursing Research Unit and collaborates with the Neurology Department at the Dr. Josep Trueta University Hospital in Girona.
