Nicola has been nursing for 23 years and was fortunate to be the second Advanced Multiple Sclerosis Nurse Champion. Appointed in 2019, she is based in North Cumbria and having met the initial programme KPi’s was successful in securing a substantive post within the Neurology service in 2020. She gained her BSc Hons Community Specialist Practitioner in 2017 while working as a District Nurse. Nicola is also a Non-Medical Prescriber, and prior to District Nursing gained a broad nursing experience in acute medicine, surgical and occupational health nursing. Her priority is to work alongside patients, their families and care givers to plan, coordinate and implement much-needed care in the local area, for people living with the complexities and often devastating symptoms of advanced MS. She has presented and chaired at MS Trust Conference, and is passionate about highlighting the reality of Advanced Disease progression through teaching and supporting colleagues.
