Dr Norah Jordan is consultant clinical neuropsychologist with extensive experience in clinical and research settings, specialising in neuropsychological assessment, differential diagnosis, cognitive disorders, and neurodevelopmental psychology. She is currently serving as a Principal Clinical Neuropsychologist at the Regional Specialist Memory Clinic inMercer’s Institute for Successful Aging, St James’ Hospital, Dublin.

Education and Training

Norah holds an MSc in Clinical Paediatric Neuropsychology from University College London (2020-2021), a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Neuropsychology from the University of Glasgow (2017-2020), and a professional doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Trinity College Dublin (2010-2013), as well as a BSc and MSc in Applied Psychology. Her education also includes additional training in Cognitive Analytic Therapy and Compassionate Focused Therapy, reflecting her commitment to integrating appropriate third-wave therapeutic approaches.

Norah career spans multiple acute hospital roles, including her positions as a ConsultantClinical Neuropsychologist at St James’ Hospital, where she provided expert assessment and intervention for cognitive impairments and post-COVID sequelae and for the acute stroke team. Previously, she worked as a Senior Clinical Psychologist and Neuropsychologist at the National Centre for Inherited Metabolic Disorders, and with neuropsychological sequelae of neurological and endocrine conditions, and has extensive experience in neuropsychological and developmental services across various clinical settings. Norah also worked in a community adult mental health setting for two years, contributing to differential diagnoses between mental ill-health and neuropsychological conditions.

Research and Publications

Norah’s research interests encompass cognitive profiles in paediatric and adult populationswith genetic and neurological conditions, including mitochondrial disorders, ALS, and inherited errors of metabolism. She has supervised doctoral theses and contributed to numerous high-impact publications on neuropsychological aspects of conditions such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and diabetes. Her research has been focused onadvancing clinical guidelines and improving patient outcomes.
