Prof Matthew Walker
Prof Matthew Walker graduated from Cambridge University and St Thomas’ Hospital in 1989, and is now professor of neurology at the Institute of Neurology, UCL and consultant neurologist at the National Hospital for neurology and neurosurgery. Matthew specialises in epilepsy, neurological sleep disorders, and video-EEG telemetry. In addition, he has an active research laboratory investigating mechanisms, diagnosis and treatment of epilepsy. Matthew is an associate editor of Brain, and also Therapeutic Advances in Neurological Disorders. He is president of the British Branch of the International League against Epilepsy, secretary of ILAE-Europe and chair of the trustees of Epilepsy Research UK. He was awarded ILAE Ambassador for Epilepsy in 2013.
