Prof Matthew Walker
Prof Matthew Walker graduated from Cambridge University and St Thomas’ Hospital in 1989, and is now professor of neurology at the UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology, and consultant neurologist at the National Hospital for neurology and neurosurgery. Matthew specialises in epilepsy, neurological sleep disorders, and video-EEG telemetry. In addition, he has an active research laboratory investigating mechanisms, diagnosis and treatment of epilepsy and status epilepticus. Matthew is past president of the British Branch of the International League against Epilepsy, past chair of ILAE-Europe and chair of the trustees of the Epilepsy Research Institute UK. He was awarded ILAE Ambassador for Epilepsy in 2013.
