Prof Tony Marson
Professor Marson is a consultant neurologist and epileptologist at The Walton Centre, Professor of Neurology at The University of Liverpool and Director of Research Programmes at Liverpool Health Partners. The team at The Walton Centre runs one of the largest epilepsy services in the UK, providing a comprehensive multidisciplinary. His research has focussed upon the assessment of treatments. Interventions and services for epilepsy, and has informed policy, service and treatment decisions worldwide. He leads the National Audit of Seizure Management in Hospitals and chairs the current NHS England review of epilepsy specialist commissioning. He has coordinated the largest randomized controlled trials in epilepsy, and is chief investigator of the recently completed NIHR HTA trial of Standard and New Antiepileptic drugs II (SANAD II), and is the Coordinating Editor of the Cochrane Epilepsy Group. He is also a Board Member of the European Academy of Neurology where he chairs the Congress Programme Committee.
