Sarah-Jayne Moore
Sarah-Jayne completed her nursing degree in 2016. Whilst working as a community nurse across West Suffolk, she developed an interest in the management of those with Parkinson’s disease. Having family members with the condition has ensured an ongoing empathy and passion for the best outcomes.
She joined the Parkinson’s nurse team in 2018, first managing the inpatient admissions within West Suffolk Hospital, Bury St. Edmunds. At this time, she completed the nurse-led management of Parkinson’s course at Swansea University and continued to develop in the area.
In 2019, Sarah-Jayne began to take a caseload of community patients, working across both inpatient and outpatient settings and providing a continuity of care. In 2019, an opportunity arose to complete a Masters in Advanced Clinical Practice which she undertook. This helped to solidify Sarah-Jayne’s general knowledge as well as practice within the setting.
In 2021, an opportunity came to assist in the botulinum toxin clinic. Therefore, Sarah-Jayne attended training courses in neurological injection techniques and ultrasound to develop the skills. She now manages a caseload of patients with cervical dystonia and spasticity in the botulinum toxin clinic.
In 2022, Sarah-Jayne took on the lead CNS role at West Suffolk Hospital, managing a team of 8 Neurology nurses (differing specialities) which has greatly improved her leadership and developed further skills.
Sarah-Jayne has a keen interest in research, including medication management and improving MDT working. She has recently volunteered with Parkinson’s UK to update patient information leaflets and has been taking part in the formation of a Technology panel for Parkinson’s disease.
