Tréa began her Nursing career in 1978 when she achieved her General Nurse registration. She specialised in oncology and built her knowledge and reputation in world renounced centres such as the Royal Marsden Hospital, London, before being approached to set up paediatric oncology wards and clinics throughout the Middle East for a five-year period ending in 1990. Her return to London saw her achieve a Registered Nurse qualification in Mental health (RMN).

Tréa moved back into General Nursing in 1996 specialising in Urology. She progressed in this field becoming a Clinical Nurse Specialist and lead Nurse for, Urology at St. George’s Hospital London. This was recognition for a body of work which included reducing the number of catheters used in the general wards, setting up a nurse-led service for catheter care and creating an emergency walk in clinic for patients with catheter related problems. She has been recognised with awards from the British association for urology nurses (BAUN) for her work in managing patients with Lower urinary tract symptoms and avoiding acute catheterisation as well as a patient safety award from St Georges Hospital for her work in standardising urology products across the trust and community services resulting in reduced Catheter associated urinary tract infections (CAUTI) and unplanned admissions.

Tréa provides education and support to other services through a variety of activities. She has written articles and e-learning programmes alongside teaching students and qualified staff from a variety of professions in a variety of settings in health and social care. This includes a monthly catheter care study day.

She has assisted numerous committees and advisory groups on local and national guidelines, on policies and procedures and is a reviewer for NICE. She has presented at conferences from Amsterdam to Johannesburg championing nurse led services and safe care.

In recent years she joined the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability providing clinical urology leadership and successfully reducing infections, improving catheter care safety and reducing admissions to the local general hospital. She is a member of the bowel and bladder foundation and the association for continence advice as well as BAUN.
