Zumer Jawaid
Dr Zumer Jawaid is Consultant Psychiatrist in Old age psychiatry specialising in Young-Onset Dementia at Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. Zumer graduated in 2009 from Rawalpindi Medical College, Pakistan and finished her Psychiatry training with endorsement in Liaison Psychiatry. Zumer was named Health Education England’s Yorkshire School of Psychiatry Higher Trainee of the Year in June 2019 before taking up a Consultant post in August 2020.
Zumer has a special interest in the mental health law and published in reputable journals. Zumer actively participates in educating colleagues in understanding the mental health law and is part of faculty in Andrew Sims Centre Leeds. Zumer has ongoing clinical and research interests in dementia and young onset dementias with an aspiration to improve outcomes and has been involved with resetting and quality improvement of memory assessment service in Leeds.
