Originally formed in the late 1990s, The Alliance of Scottish Parkinson’s Nurse Specialists (ASPNS) is a fully constitute, cohesive and active group, who meet on a quarterly basis and is open to all Nurses working within specialist Parkinson’s Services in Scotland.

A principal ethos of the group is to provide a determined approach to see improvement in services throughout Scotland by ensuring a collaborative and constructive approach with other organisations, Locally and Nationally; while providing our expertise and dynamic participation to drive policy making at a Scottish Parliamentary level.

We strive to ensure that the adoption of best practice models of Parkinson’s care (that accounts for Scotland’s uniqueness in healthcare systems, service delivery and nursing care) is a priority throughout the country to enable People with Parkinson’s, and their carers’, receive equity of care no matter where they live. We pursue this through active engagement and arrangement of high quality education and training, to drive the standards of care, knowledge and expertise that modern healthcare requires; and our Patients deserve.
