Carmel Wilkinson is the MS Specialist Nurse in South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust. She has been a MS Specialist nurse for 21 years, an acute neurology unit nurse for 8 years prior to that and spent her early years working within Care of the Elderly Rehabilitation. She initially began her MS journey as part of the Regional Neuroscience Centre, Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle upon Tyne. For the last 5 years she has been working alongside Dr Kate Petheram in STSFT offering a holistic service providing all aspects of MS care from diagnosis onwards. Carmel has a specialist interest in managing new diagnosis, DMT treatment, women's health and symptom management.
