Dr Claire McCarthy
Claire Louise McCarthy is a consultant neurologist specialising in multiple sclerosis (MS) and neuro-immunology at Addenbrooke’s hospital, Cambridge. She is the clinical lead for the regional MS disease modifying therapy service. She completed her PhD in the neuro-immunology of multiple sclerosis (2006-2010) with Prof. Alasdair Coles at the University of Cambridge. During the PhD Clarie was an investigator on the phase II and phase III trials of alemtuzumab in relapsing-remitting MS. She has also studied the response to vaccination of MS patients treated with alemtuzumab through a phase IV clinical trial.
