Dr Robin Fackrell
Dr Robin Fackrell is a consultant physician & specialist in Parkinson’s disease & related disorders at the Royal United Hospital, Bath where he has runs a multidisciplinary movement disorder service.
He is an honorary senior lecturer at the University of Bristol, fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and has a masters in Healthcare Ethics and Law. His particular areas of interest include non motor symptoms of Parkinson’s disease and palliative care.
He lectures on these topics frequently and is a faculty member of the Parkinson’s Academy. He sits on the Guideline Development Group for the new NICE guidelines for the management of Parkinson’s Disease. He has been closely involved in projects with The Healthcare Foundation, involving the creation of Safer Clinical Systems for People With Parkinson’s and The King’s Fund which focuses on end of life decision making. He is involved with an increasing research portfolio, recruiting to studies such as ProBaND, PDSTAT, PDPAIN , PDDNA and ReSPonD amongst others. He is a member of the British Geriatric Society Specialist Interest Group in Movement Disorders.
