Kharis Hutchison

Kharis Hutchison is a third-year PhD student at the University of Leeds located within the School of Social Sciences. Kharis has an undergraduate degree from the University of St. Andrews (2020) and a master’s degree from the University of Glasgow in Equality and Human Rights (2021). Her PhD research explores the domestic violence and abuse experiences of women with MS and the implications for practice focusing on their support journeys and what constitutes ideal support. The research aims to understand how best to support women with MS and who is best placed to do so. Kharis’s research interests are located in disability studies with a particular interest in chronic conditions, such as MS, and gender-based and interpersonal violence.
