Sean White, NIHR clinical doctoral research doctoral fellow and dietitian for the Sheffield MND Centre. Sean's doctoral research is exploring how healthcare professionals as individual practitioners and as part of multidisciplinary teams best support people living with motor neuron disease (MND) to make the decision to have a gastrostomy placed. Sean is also co-applicant on the NIHR programme grant, HighCALS, which is focused on the nutritional management of people living with MND and the design and evaluation of a complex nutrition support intervention. Sean has presented on many issues relating to home enteral feeding and decision making at local and national educational events and conferences. He has also written articles in professional publications and published research focusing on the decision to commence long-term enteral feeding.
