Sarah started her nursing career in Leicester in 1987. In 1992, she started working in palliative care, working in hospices in Wales, Texas, USA and in Cambridge. Sarah moved into district nursing in 2003 but has always had an interest in supporting people with neurological conditions or complex needs. She worked within Cambridge city until 2012. In 2010, Sarah joined a project across the east of England, training health and social care professionals around aspects of palliative and end of life care.

Sarah has run the nurse-led community Multiple Sclerosis Service in Huntingdonshire since 2014. The team supports people living with MS from diagnosis through to advanced MS within their community and focuses on supporting them to have a good quality of life and well managed symptoms. Sarah will support people with complex needs and their families. The team sit within the community neuro-rehab team and alongside the early stroke discharge team. Sarah is part of the leadership team and supervises the nurses within both services.

Sarah has been a Queen’s Nurse for 10 years. She has been regional lead for the East of England for the last 8 years. It is a great honor and something Sarah is very proud of.
