Course overview
The SMA Education Day is a focused one-day programme designed to address the evolving challenges in the comprehensive management of spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). Building on the foundations of the previous MasterClass, this updated course delves deeply into key areas such as respiratory care, palliative approaches, ethical dilemmas, and neurocognitive outcomes in treated SMA patients. It also explores the practicalities of implementing newborn screening and transitioning care from paediatric to adult services, with patient experiences interwoven throughout the programme.
Through an interactive format, including case discussions, ethical debates, and roundtable sessions, participants will engage in expert-led discussions and multidisciplinary collaboration, fostering a deeper understanding of complex clinical scenarios and innovative approaches to care.
