What will I get from attending the National Neurology Transformation Meeting (NNTM) 2026?

At NNTM 2026, you’ll join a vibrant community of clinicians, commissioners, Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) partners, and patient advocates who are passionate about transforming neurology services for the better. This third annual meeting is delivered in partnership with The Neurological Alliance.

The NHS is undergoing its most radical reform in a generation. In the past 12 months we have seen the abolition of NHS England, with greater responsibility now sitting with Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) and the Department of Health and Social Care. We have also welcomed the launch of the UK Neuro Forum, the first governmental advisory body dedicated to neurology, ensuring national leadership and accountability. Alongside this, the Government’s 10-Year Health Plan for England has set out three major shifts in health and care: from hospital to community, from analogue to digital, and from sickness to prevention. Meanwhile, My Neuro Survey 2025 has once again highlighted the persistence of unwarranted variation and inequities in access to neurological care.

This shifting landscape brings both challenges and opportunities. People affected by neurological conditions, clinicians, and commissioners all need clarity on how national ambitions will translate into meaningful, equitable care on the ground.

Delivering integrated neurology care in a changing NHS

The 2025 National Neurology Transformation Meeting highlighted progress in integrating acute and community care. The 2026 programme will build on this momentum and tackle some of the most complex areas of service delivery, including improving transition for young people moving from paediatric to adult neurology services, embedding neuropsychiatry and psychology into care pathways, strengthening collaboration between stroke and neurology services, and meeting the needs of people with rare and ultra-rare conditions.

Delegates will hear from national leaders, innovative service teams, and patient representatives who are delivering change on the ground. The meeting will explore what ICB-led commissioning means in practice, how it can drive integration, and how services can adapt to meet the needs of diverse populations.

Following the success of the 2024 and 2025 meetings, this year’s event continues to provide a platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and showcasing practical solutions that can be adapted across different health systems. Recordings from the 2025 sessions remain available as a valuable reference for background and context.

This change brings both opportunities and challenges, particularly in tackling the widespread unwarranted variation in service provision identified in the Neurology GIRFT Report (2021) and the persistent inequities in access and experience highlighted in My Neuro Survey.

Here’s what you can look forward to
  • Inspiring ideas & practical solutions – Hear from leading experts and trailblazers who are shaping the future of neurology, with a strong focus on community-based care. Discover real-world strategies and proven models you can adapt and apply within your own practice, service, or organisation.
  • Actionable insights on health equity – Learn how to tackle inequalities in neurology care, with sessions exploring data-driven approaches, targeted interventions, and community engagement that make a measurable difference for patients and families.

  • Collaboration & networking – Connect with colleagues from across the country, share experiences, and build relationships that last beyond the meeting. You’ll find a welcoming space to exchange ideas and spark new collaborations.

  • Showcasing innovation – Explore the latest developments in digital health, integrated care, and multidisciplinary teamwork. See how others are overcoming challenges and delivering better outcomes for people with neurological conditions.

  • A voice in shaping the future – Your insights matter. NNTM is a platform where every attendee can contribute to the conversation and help set the priorities for the year ahead.

Join us at NNTM 2026 and leave inspired, connected, and equipped to drive meaningful change in your community. This is more than just a meeting — it’s a movement. Don’t miss your chance to be part of it.

The February 2026 meeting will cover:
  • Post-delegation realities – how ICBs are commissioning and delivering specialised neurology services in practice.

  • Seamless transition care – ensuring effective handover from paediatric to adult neurology services.

  • Integrating mental health and neurology – developing neuropsychiatry and psychology pathways within neurological care.

  • Stroke and neurology collaboration – building joint approaches for patient groups with overlapping needs.

  • Improving care for rare and ultra-rare conditions – pathways, commissioning, and access to treatment.

  • Tackling unwarranted variation and inequity – strategies to address disparities identified in Neurology GIRFTand My Neuro Survey.

  • Data-driven service improvement – using analytics to measure impact, target resources, and support decision-making.

  • Scaling successful models – replicating and adapting innovations across different systems.

Abstract and poster selection

The top three abstracts will be invited for short oral presentations during the dedicated “Integrating System Models and Service Innovation” session at the meeting. Presenters will have 3 minutes plus Q&A, and the winning project will be chosen by peer vote.

Key dates
