Dr Peter Fletcher is Academic Director Emeritus of the Parkinson’s Academy having been its co-founder and first Academic Director.

He has recently retired from clinical practice as a consultant care of the elderly physician at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. He specialised in movement disorders and shared service delivery with colleagues from nursing and the allied health professions, care of the elderly, neurology and old age psychiatry. He ran 4 clinics on 3 sites across a very rural county.

He is a past chair of the British Geriatrics Society Movement Disorders Section, past president of the Cheltenham branch of Parkinson’s UK but remains a trustee of the Cure Parkinson’s charity. He has an MSc in Medical Education and is a past examiner of the Royal Colleges of Physicians’ MRCP PACES and DGM examinations.
