Dr Rachel Farrell
Dr Rachel Farrell is a consultant neurologist at the National Hospital in Queen Square, and an honorary senior lecturer at the UCL, Institute of Neurology. Dr Farrell specialises in multiple sclerosis (MS), particularly symptom management and neurorehabilitation. She completed a PhD in the department neuroimmunology at the UCL Institute of Neurology, investigating aspects of disease modifying treatment for MS. MS pathophysiology and treatment continue to be research interests. Clinically Dr Farrell works in the complex spasticity service at the NHNN and leads a multidisciplinary service to manage walking impairment in people with MS. She has considerable clinical experience in both neurorehabilitation and complex spasticity management, including treatments using electromyography guided botulinum toxin, intrathecal baclofen and phenol.
